Anyway, in the interview, they talked about the death of Mr. Hooper and how emotional it was to do the scene below with Big Bird. It was so tough they did only one take. You can really feel the emotion. It’s a great clip.

In August, we all discussed this amazing wedding dress.

Also, Jen didn’t have the c-word.

In September, I launched my new blog, Patrick Talks Tech.com.

In October, I geared up for (and later failed) at both NaNoWriMo and NaBloPoMo. Go figure.

In November, The Wife became Jen and launched her own blog.

Miss Britt did a guest post for me about the ladies of Disney.

Also, in November, we voted in the change that we desperately need and hope in our political system was restored in me. This was easily the best post I wrote all year.

December was a lot of depressing posts, so let’s just leave them there.

Anyway, go read some posts. Unfortunately, most of the comments are closed on those posts to reduce the dreaded comment spam. So feel free to comment here on any of these posts.

Thanks for reading my blog.
Here’s to a better 2009.

Secondly and lastly, a hat tip to Topless Robot for finding this. Hilarious. (I’m a Star Wars fanatic and this is still funny.)

Seems like everyone in doing their ‘Year In Review’ posts about now. Sure. Why not? I don’t really have one planned. But I can whip it together like air tools filling tires. So, without any fanfare at all, here is my ‘Stuff From 2008′ list.

We found out that Jasmine is WAY hotter than Belle. Not even close.

I got some love from STLToday.com for this post about Star Wars.

I tried to find my passion…I’m still having trouble with that one.

I discovered Randy Pausch. He touched a lot of lives while he was here.

Amy Lee of Evanescence became the patron saint of this blog. This resulted in a 0% sales increase for her band. You’re welcome!

I used PaperbackSwap.com a lot and I’m reading more than I have since I was in the Air Force back in the nineties. I suppose that’s a good thing.

Gas prices killed us at the pump, reaching $3.50 or worse per gallon. The only benefit of a dismal economy is gas is way back down.

I discovered Katy Perry and was enthralled. That ended pretty quickly.

And that was JUST through May. I like this year-in-review thing so much I think we’ll do a second part tomorrow. See you then.

So, I debated posting this one. It’s hilarious, but wow, is it embarrassing. I figured it would probably get out from Jen telling her friends. And I wasn’t wrong. It’s spreading out there. So, why should I penalize my online friends who don’t have the benefit of the local network? So, here you have it.

My brand-new, most embarrassing moment…EVER.

On Saturday, Jen and I had a date night. We were going to a reception for her cousin who had recently gotten married out of town. We had a sitter. That does not happen often.

So after, we have plenty of time to kill. And we are child-free. Unless you have kids, you will NOT understand the joy of a child-free night. It’s intoxicating. I love my kids, but man, sometimes we parents have to get out.

And sometimes, things can get a little…frisky…

We’re driving back home and we’re apparently both teenagers again. Because we pass a park and figure, why not? (This was all her idea, by the way.) We pulled in behind the recreation center. As things are getting ‘more intimate’ though, the car becomes flooded with headlights followed by flashing blue and red lights.

SCRAMBLE! SCRAMBLE! CRAP! CRAP! CRAP!

I’m thirty-nine years old…and I’m getting busted by the police…for making out IN A CAR.

I roll down the window and John Q. Law asks me what’s going on. I sing like a canary. He asks for IDs for both of us and proof of insurance and heads back to his car…obviously to wipe the tears of laughter from his eyes and tell his buddy in the second car about what he caught.

Meanwhile, I’m in the car with Jen and I’m shaking my head and she thinks this is the most hilarious thing ever. Ten excruciatingly long minutes later, Officer Law returns and gives us back our stuff. He reminds us that we are trespassing and he’s going to let us off with a warning. We immediately head home.

Lesson learned: if you’re going to make out with someone in your car, best to do it in your garage. No one gets busted and you save money because you’re burning less gas. Hey, look, that’s better for the environment too.

I can’t believe I got busted for making out in a car…
