Last battle for round #2 finds Rachel Bilson versus Kate Winslet!

Rachel Bilson made her spectacular debut on ‘The O.C.’ as Summer and won the hearts of young men everywhere. She has since gone on to other TV shows (currently on ‘Chuck’) and has done several notable movie roles including ‘Last Kiss’ with Zach Braff.

Kate Winslet may be most famous as Rose on the blockbuster ‘Titanic’, but her career has been nothing short of prolific. Tending to take on the darker roles and movies, Kate also has the distinction of appearing semi-nude in nearly every picture she’s in.

Next battle for patron saint! Elisha Cuthbert versus Rachael Ray!

Elisha Cuthbert is a young actress who I recall seeing first on ’24′. She didn’t really catch my eye until ‘The Girl Next Door’, an endearing and funny film in which Elisha plays an adult film star, yet somehow never appears nude. Go figure!

Rachael Ray built her empire on the back of Food Network starting with shows that feature numbers, like ‘$40 A Day’ and ’30 Minute Meals’. She has those shows still as well as jillions of cookbooks, a daytime television show and stack of money to sleep on. Plus, she can cook her butt off.

In battle #2, it’s Rogue versus Storm. Both mutants, both possible patron saint for this blog.

Storm, born Ororo Munroe, hails from Egypt. Taken in by Professor Xavier, she rose through the ranks to lead the X-Men on many, many missions. Her ability to control the weather is matched only by her ability to control her emotions. Often times, her current emotional state is echoed in the weather around her.

Rogue, the Southern belle from the…uh…South, started her career on the wrong side of the law. When Mystique couldn’t help her control her power, she sought out Professor Xavier. She became an X-Man and served alongside Storm for many years. One touch and she absorbs the memories and powers of whomever she touches, but with a cost, her fragile hold on sanity.

In the ever-continuing battle for patron saint of Patrick Says, we have Gabrielle Union taking on Sporty Spice. Let’s get it on!!!

Gabrielle Union caught my eye as Isis, the head cheerleader for the Compton Clovers in the film ‘Bring It On’. She has gone on to quite a few movie roles, although truth be told, I can’t think of any at the moment.

Mel C., aka ‘Sporty Spice’, is one-fifth of the musical powerhouse, The Spice Girls, who recently reunited. I have no idea why I gravitated toward Sporty. Certainly, Baby Spice would have fit my M.O. better, but Sporty it was.

The polls are all closed on round #1. In that last one, Gabrielle Union beat out Adriana Lima for the win. Here are the match-ups for round #2, starting this weekend:

• A couple days ago, I said I was bumping out Sporty Spice for Rachel Bilson. Due to some odd numbers, I can actually leave Sporty Spice in and just move Amy Lee as a bye into round #3 with Mary Alice.
• What does that mean? Battle #1 will be Gabrielle Union versus Sporty Spice.
• Battle #2 pits heroes Rogue versus Storm.
• Battle #3 will feature Elisha Cuthbert taking on Rachael Ray.
• And lastly, battle #4 will have Rachel Bilson going against Kate Winslet.

The big battle, I think, will be battle #2 as there was a lot of Rogue fans early voicing their support for the Southern belle. There will probably be at least one landslide victory, but I’m not sure which battle it will be.
