I go to all the trouble of having a HUGE, multi-layered voting battle and crown you Patron Saint of this very blog and you have done exactly NOTHING newsworthy in the ENTIRE time since. For crying out loud, throw something at your personal assistant or maybe attack a clerk at Target. Something… heck, anything!

I mean, seriously, Mary Alice from Ace of Cakes ACTUALLY wrote me and sent me pictures. Don’t think I won’t revoke your status. Maybe Mary Alice can take a swing at a law enforcement officer every once and awhile.

The Patron Saint Battle is over.

And in a heated battle, Amy Lee of Evanescence took the victory by a score of 20-12 over Mary Alice of ‘Ace of Cakes’. Amy Lee will be awarded the title of ‘Patron Saint’ for Patrick Says. As well as the title, Amy Lee also wins the crown (currently at a pawn shop), a vegetable bouquet (which we’ll be using for a stew tomorrow…fingers crossed) and the prize money totaling $1.98. (That’s our budget, Amy!) Contact me for your prize money.

The battle starts now and runs for two full weeks. Logging is on and multiple votes will not be accepted. Here are the two contestants nominees combatants:

Mary Alice is the office manager of Charm City Cakes, the bakery of Duff Goldman, featured on the Food Network show, ‘Ace of Cakes’. Mary Alice is cool, quirky and good with the puns.

AMY LEE OF EVANESCENCE

Amy Lee is the vocalist, songwriter and driving force behind the rock group, Evanescence. She loves corsets (as do I). She is also a classically-trained pianist.

I didn’t forget it. Here it is. The battle for patron saint enters the final round!

This one is going to be different than the others. All three finalists go head-to-head for one week. The lowest vote-getter is eliminated. The two remaining opponents start fresh and go head-to-head for one week. And get this, you can vote as many times as you want. Just refresh the page and vote again!

Okay, the third round is nearly complete. Here’s how it went. Kate Winslet made short work of Rogue. In the second battle, Amy Lee and Elisha Cuthbert finished dead even at eight votes each. In the event of a tie, I pick my favorite and I choose Amy Lee. So, Kate Winslet are two of the three finalists.

The Gabrielle Union / Mary Alice battle is still underway although Mary Alice has a healthy lead and is virtually assured the victory.

How are we doing the final round?

All three finalists will be voted. One vote per person. At the end of a week, the lowest vote gets eliminated. Then for one week, the two finalists go head to head. At the end of that voting period, the highest number of votes is declared the new patron saint of this blog.

What can the winner expect? Besides undying love? A picture on the home page and an RSS feed of their very own. So, good luck to all!
