Stretching The Medical Dollar…

Remember all those copays? Well, after you pay all those, you don’t have a lot of money left for other stuff. So, we find inventive ways to make it all work.

The Wife has a j-tube. It has dressings and those dressings have to be changed multiple times per day and the dressings can be expensive. So, how do we help this situation? Adult diapers. The Wife has what should be a patented process for taking one adult diaper and cutting and taping it into three dressings. Seriously, she’s awesome at the old-school ‘cut and paste tape’.

So, that’s how we’re surviving. Little things, my friends. Little things.

Hey, whatever works. I remember from picking up some of my grandparents’ prescriptions that dressings indeed can be pricey.

If you don’t mind me asking, why does your wife have a j-tube? Is it permanent? :(

    Patrick D. Reply:

Wasn’t supposed to be permanent, but who knows anymore? She had a myriad of problems after her gastric bypass that ultimately culminated in removing her colon because of redundancy and motility issues, which then resulted in twisting up and dying of her intestines and it’s a really long story and one I’m not legally allowed to say much about at this time.

Sorry. Not trying to be coy. Let’s say her gastric bypass experience was less than successful.

    Tell Jen, very clever!

You know, that might be a marketable (ie = PROFITable) idea she has there…
