Kids Need To Eat Better…

Tuesday, September 20th, 2011

You know what one of the most detrimental obstacles to not overeating is? Kids.

More specifically, my kids. They have become picky eaters and as a result, when dinner is over, there is a lot of food left on their plates. I grew up pretty poor. I cannot bear to throw food away. It literally pains me. So I’ll sneak a bite or two or three before I clear the plates into the undermount stainless sinks.

I have to watch that. It’s a really easy way to creep more calories into my day than I plan for. It’s a really easy way to wreck my progress toward 200 pounds. But it’s not easy.

Contractual Obligations…

Sunday, September 18th, 2011

Everyone in my Facebook stream seems to be talking about contractual obligations. I guess it’s related to football. I used to love football, but kids killed the time I used to give to watching and picking awesome fantasy football teams.

On a unrelated tangent, I was asked to review a site about Pottery Barn coupons. I’m not going to lie. I have never stepped foot into a Pottery Barn. But, then I’m a dude. But this site looks like it has an extensive selection of Pottery Barn coupons, so if you like pottery, or whatever they sell there, check it out.

I Borked My Blog…

Wednesday, September 14th, 2011

If you were on this site yesterday for a six or seven minute period between 5pm and 6pm, you may have noticed this site had some problems. Sorry about that. I was trying to make a modification I’ve wanted to make for awhile and I borked the blog.

See, when I set this blog up years ago, I choose to go with the www on the front, like www.patricksays.net. But nowadays, nearly everybody knows how web addresses work and the www is unnecessary. So I wanted everything to point to patricksays.net instead.

Apparently, I did it wrong. But I was able to quickly get my bearings and fix it within minutes. I guess I’ll have to research this a little more before trying again.
