That Poundage Issue…
So, I realize I haven’t blogged in awhile. I don’t have a good reason, like title loans Connecticut or rabbit stew in Pittsburgh.
I’m still here, just busy. It’s cool.
The weight loss is going well (recap). As of today, I have lost nearly twenty-eight pounds. It’s been through a combination of watching what I eat and keeping track of approximate calories and walking most every day. I started out at one mile per day, but now I walk at least 2.5 miles every day. Except Saturday…that’s my day off.
And it’s working. I’ve always insisted that weight loss is just a numbers game and if you work the numbers right, you lose weight.
My goal right now is to get to 199 pounds. Once I get there, I’ll decide whether to maintain or try and get to what is consider the ideal weight for my height, 166 pounds. That’s pretty far off right now, but it’s just a pound or two at a time.

Gah. I’m so tired of being overweight! I thought my new friend IBS was going to fix it for me but she’s a fickle bitch and stopped after I lost the first 30#. My doctor tells me that I need to be at my lowest adult weight to stave off the diabetes but that was 116# and I was skin and bones. With my G-cup I don’t think I could get there again without surgical reconstruction. I’m hoping to get said reconstruction eventually but I want to get down to like… 150-ish first. I was much happier at 135 than I was at 116.

If by ‘surgical reconstruction’, you mean gastric bypass, think long and hard about that. I can’t go into great detail because of current litigation, but that surgery destroyed my wife’s life.

Nope, breast reduction. Sorry to hear about your wife, hope she’s recovered.

Everyone is so proud of you! It takes a lot of determination and patience to lose it the “right” way. Keep it up…you’re rockin’, SB!

Way to go Patrick! I just started a new job last week and we get free lunches (yeah, I know: there’s no such thing as a free lunch). Thankfully there is a mediocre salad bar there, so I’ve been granting myself a ‘bad’ Friday lunch if I stick to a salad for all the other days. I certainly feel a difference even after just one week – mostly attributing it to no McD’s two or sometimes three times a week.
Hoping to make it back to the gym starting next week, too!
