Reproduction…

This will probably be lost on those without children, but I’m floored listening to my son read a book. I can still remember when he was just this little thing that ate, puked and pooped. And now he can read, do math, be sarcastic, make me yell and everything else that people do.

It blows the mind.

    I feel ya, man! Mine is getting ready to start middle school, is growing facial hair, and his voice is changing. All this from the child that didnt want to come into this world, to begin with! Enjoy it. Your turn is coming way too quickly. Good job being a Daddy, BTW. You make me smile! :)

    Our daughter is only 7 months old. I’d like her to be able to play the piano when she is older. So, every evening between 17:00 and 17:30 she sits on my knees in front of a Yamaha PSR 430 electronic piano.

    I play a few simple scales and she watches. She then tries to copy me with her, not so fully dextrous, little hands. Remember, she’s only 7 months old. She strikes three keys at once as she descends the octave. On the way back up from middle C, she decides to chew the keys.

    Later, she’s interested in the weird sounds made by the portamento knob and spreads her upper torso over as many keys as possible, mesmerised by the flashing blue and red lights. Her compositions sound something like John Cale did in the 1970s.
