There Are Days…

It’s funny some days the things that will set you off.

I was getting some cheesecake out of the tray to have a little dessert. I tried to pick it up with the serving triangle thing and it flipped over and landed face-down. I cursed and threw the little triangle thing. But really, the cheesecake incident isn’t really what made me angry. I think we have a certain amount of stress we can hold internally, like a glass of water just millimeters from overflowing. And the cheesecake incident just happens to be the water that makes it overflow.

I mean, that glass could have been inches from the top and then you watch the news and hear about Manteo foreclosures and foreclosures everywhere and then you sit down to pay bills and you’re not sure there’s enough money for both mortgages and suddenly, the glass is right at the edge. Then some cheesecake and BAM rage.

Maybe that’s just how I’m wired. Thoughts?

That happens to me on a regular basis. Better the cheesecake than someone you love.

I’m with you man! My glass is always at the tip top. I need to cut back on my ‘stuff’ before someone gets hurt!

But the question is always ‘what gives’? Bill collectors don’t take a holiday and neither do medical problems.

You are so, so right! I can take about 100 things calmly, but watch out if you’re 101! I think we all certainly have that breaking point. (And often it’s over something ridiculous.) You’ve had a lot on your plate for a long time, and overall, you’re doing a great job!
