Thanks, Cleaning Power Of Citrus!
Okay, don’t get your running shorts in a bunch. I’m here. It’s just been a very busy couple days. Anyway…
I’ve noticed something. With the proliferation of cleaning products on the market utilizing the ‘cleaning power of citrus’, I can’t eat foods flavored with orange or lemon, with a few exceptions. And this annoys me. I used to love these foods, but not anymore:
- Lemon cookies
- Orange chicken
- Orange danishes
There are exceptions, notably the juices (orange juice and lemonade) and the actual fruits themselves. But otherwise, eating these foods make me feel like I just ate a meal of Pledge.

I hate anything banana flavored, and I love bananas. My god-daughter is allergic to grape flavoring, but not grapes. Or any other flavoring.
And as much as I love oranges and duck, I can’t stand orange duck, so I hear you on that.

My little one loves just about all fruits, but only fresh, nothing cooked. She doesn’t like pastries, pies, strudels, etc.
By the way, the citrus scented cleaning products are my fav…it makes the house smell so fresh! Just got a new lemon scented hand soap for the office. My kiddo said it was time to ditch the pumpkin scent…I agree, way overdue!

My tolerance for pumpkin is never high, even around Turkey Day.
