Look, I’m not an expert on top Xmas gifts for men, but I am a dude, so maybe I can speak to at least a couple gifts a guy would like.

I’m a tech fiend, so I dig gadgets. Even though I’m kind of an Apple hater, I’d still love to get my hands on an iPad. Samsung is also releasing the Galaxy Tab soon which should be a great competitor to the iPad. (And it runs Android. And I love Android.)

Movies are always a good choice. My recent favorites include the British horror miniseries ‘Dead Set’. Wow. It blew my mind. I also really liked ‘Zack and Miri Make a Porno’ in spite of some of the reviews I read. But I have always enjoyed Kevin Smith films. Honorable mentions to ‘Kick-Ass’ and ‘Inglourious Basterds’. Liked both of those a lot, but I’m too lazy to link them.

So there’s a couple suggestions. If you’re a dude, add something you’d like to the comments. If you’re a lady, tell me what you’re getting your dude friends.

I know what I said about that Big Talkers widget back in October. I said I’d leave it up as a counter for the year and maybe a prize for the most comments. But really, it’s not much of a contest.

So, I’m going back to a monthly counter. So there. It’s my blog and I can do what I want. If I want to do skin care product reviews, I’ll do them. If I want to post pictures of dogs driving cars, I’ll do it. You can’t stop me…

I have two sons.

The Oldest has never been given a proper nickname on this blog. I’ve used ‘The Oldest’ since ‘The Boy’ was no longer the only boy. The second one has a nickname. I sometimes call him Steak. I like it even though I don’t use it as much except here on the blog.

The Oldest is six and I kid you not, will eat nonstop. I can’t keep up with his appetite. I’m trying to load the house with healthy snacks, but he’s an eating machine. I remember when I was a kid, I was the same. I could eat twice my weight and not gain a pound. Until I hit about 22. Then it all went to crap.

But enough about football gifts, I mean, enough about me.

He needs a proper nickname and I have two in mind. Along the conceptual lines of the Jersey Shore folks, I came up with ‘The Hunger’. Or the classic ‘Hungry’ as in ‘I’m Hungry.’ ‘I’m Patrick, nice to meet you.’ What do you think?
