Lo Quiero Death…

Let me make this clear upfront: I don’t want to disparage Taco Bell employees. Really. I don’t. But I have some serious concerns about Taco Bell selling shrimp tacos. The Wife and MANY, many other people I know have shellfish allergies. Any contact, even with the residue of shellfish, can send them into an anaphylactic reaction. It’s not a good thing.
I really hope that Taco Bell is taking serious precautions with this stuff. Because I’m not confident that seventeen-year-old kids making minimum wage really understand the concept of commingling they way a regular chef might.
And that’s scary.
If you’re dining there, you might want to get a life insurance quote before you take that first bite. Just saying…

Now you know how people with peanut allergies feel, only it’s more prevalent of an ingredient.

Believe me, I already know. The Wife has a latex allergy which is problematic because latex is EVERYWHERE (think balloons, etc.) and being allergic is pretty rare, so many people haven’t heard of it or worse, don’t believe her.

My aunt has a severe latex allergy, and she works in a hospital surrounded by it. She coughs all the time now.

The Wife used to work in a hospital before the allergy developed. That’s how she found it. Her reactions are severe and it changed everything. Can’t go to Chuck E. Cheese or most functions where regular balloons are. It’s tough.
