Getting Old Sucks…
I noticed something the other day. The amount of recovery time from relatively simple injuries is directly proportional to how old you are. I’ll give you an example: the other day, I was walking down the hall and turned a corner just a half-second too late and hit my shoulder on the door jamb. (Don’t even act like you haven’t done that. And if you haven’t, believe me, you will. Hopefully, no one will be there to capture the moment with a Canon camera. But I digress…)
Anyway, it hurt. For like, three days. For a ridiculously minor injury.
So I developed this chart based on my experience in life:
Age to Recovery Time
20 —> 10 minutes
30 —> 1 hour
40 —>THREE FRIGGIN’ DAYS
Again, getting old sucks.

Ouch. That injury sounds a little painful. I haven’t done that, but I did witness my five year old daughter crack her head on a door jamb because she mis-judged the distance between it and her body, heh.

Jenn — my son did the same thing this weekend, and aside from his stunned look and request for me to kiss the boo-boo, he went right on playing, so Patrick, you might want to add a new category for those under 20 with a recovery time of about 1 minute!
Unfortunately I have to concur with your findings, and notion that getting old sucks…
Good luck and hopefully today your shoulder is feeling better
