Absolutely Not Kid-Safe…

This movie looks awesome. Bear in mind, it’s based off a comic book. Also, this trailer is loaded with profanity, so if that is a problem, DO NOT WATCH. Thank you.

Movie Reviews For Dudes…

Friday, February 26th, 2010

(This post is going to be kind of sexist. Sorry. That’s why it’s titled the way it is. If you’re easily offended, skip this post. Thank you.)

I started again with Netflix awhile back. I’ve been missing a lot of movies and felt kind of out-of-it, so I needed to see something made in the last two years. So, I went back to Netflix.

One cool thing about Netflix is that if you are in-between discs because of the post office, you can stream some movies right onto your PC or similarly-capable device. It’s handy because it’s instantaneous. One such movie is a French film called ‘Swimming Pool’.

This was an odd movie.

As far as subtitles go, most of the movie is in English, but since a good chunk of setting is in France, there are French dialogue sections interspersed in the film. But I’m usually good with subtitled films, so this did not bother me. Your experience may vary.

Anyway, since this is a move review for dudes, let me get to the analysis. This movie is kind of dull. There is a great deal of talking and no guns at all. Explosions are non-existent. BUT, and this is a huge BUT, it is worth watching.

Why?

Ludivine Sagnier, my friends, Ludivine Sagnier. She is the actress who plays Julie and she spends a good chunk of this film with her top off. Now, movie boobs are nothing new. But exceptionally attractive movie boobs can be hard to find and these are totally worth it.

So, in conclusion, I recommend this film, although not vigorously. It’s just okay. It’s certainly more interesting than directory submissions. It does have a crazy-surprise ending that you will not see coming if you got into the actual plot of the film.

Fix Those Caps, Man!

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

If you’re from the Saint Louis area, you probably know that since time began, there has always been an anti-abortion billboard somewhere at the I-55/I-270/I-255 interchange. It’s just a fact of life, like anti ageing cream.

And normally, I could not care less. I can ignore it just like I ignore every other billboard I don’t like. But this time, they’ve gone too far.

WTF is going on with that capitalization? Why have you randomly capitalized words in the middle of the sentence? Is it for emphasis? Because it’s just irritating to me. There are ways to emphasis what you consider important parts of your message. Perhaps you’ve heard of bold? Or even some italics to convey something special? (Okay, yeah, I hate italics too.) But still…

Murdering fetuses? You people are murdering the English language.
Knock it off!

I’m Still Here…

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

It’s been awhile. What can I say? Life has been really, really busy.

I have some topics to roll out. I’ll try and push a couple tonight to get some new content flowing. On a personal note, The Wife finally got to come home from the hospital last week after two months in there. She’s happier, but it’s still very tough right now. She continues to have a rough-go getting her body to work right. It simply does not want to cooperate. So, she struggles. But she’s trying…

So, I’ve got some rants planned, which I think you guys dig. I hope. I have no posts coming up about prenatal vitamins. Also, nothing about politics…for now.
