I know how you feel because my childhood seems boring and the parts that are interesting, I may not want to share! Just write for the joy of the project, not focusing on how anyone will receive it. There’s something for everyone out there. If no one else finds it entertaining, at least the memories will bring a smile to your face. That will make it worthwhile in the end. That’s how I am choosing to view it!

When we were in high school I found a Richard Wright book in the Main Library downtown. The book was Black Boy, his autobiography. He was poor, Black and smart. I loved the book because I was poor, Black and smart (or so I have been trying to convince myself).

The point I am trying to relate is this, your story is just that, YOUR STORY. Write it. Write it well and someone will be able to relate.

After finding one of Wright’s books I found all of his books and read each one. At the time it was a saving grace, that kept me from utter despair.

I would definitely like to read your story. Write it.
