Some Of You Are Really Disturbed…
I was surfing on the greatest time-suck of all-time, Facebook, this evening and a poll came across my feed. The question was ‘Should Michael Jackson get his own national holiday?’
Are you people mentally disturbed?
Who would think of this as even a remote possibility? I don’t want to dredge anything up about the man since he is dead, but there were some serious questions about him and his alleged behavior with children. Do you really think that a slew of pop songs makes you worthy of some great honor?
It doesn’t.
Fortunately, nobody would ever suggest this in the real world. Also, on this poll, the current results are 8,552 for ‘yes’ and 82,995 for ‘no’, so most people don’t need LED taillights to see the ridiculousness of it. You 8,552 people who voted ‘yes’ really should do some serious soul-searching. You have issues.

I’d sooner give one to the Teletubbies, and I friggin’ hate, hate, hate the Teletubbies.
Really. I don’t like them.
They’re not American, so they don’t qualify, but still, I’d give them a holiday first.

He was an icon for many people. But in no way shape or form does that demand him the right to a national holiday.
National Holidays should be given to presidents, leaders, innovators…not pop icons. It is funny the question is even brought up.
