Name That Tune…

Monday morning quiz! Name these two songs by their plot lines!

  1. Ooooh, I talked to a homeless guy. Now I’m all wise.
  2. I drove my girlfriend to get an abortion. Now I’m depressed. She’s depressed. She’s more depressed. We confess! I’m still depressed.

Answers in the comments. First correct wins bragging rights!

  1. KBO Says:

#1 could be any number of songs, but I’ll go with Phil Collins’ “Another Day In Paradise”

#2 is obviously Ben Folds Five “Brick”. Hooray for depressing abortion songs that somehow end up being singles and played on the radio.

#2 is correct. I’ll leave #1 for other guessers. (Although you’re free to take another stab.) Here’s a hint: $2.

  7. Patrick D. Says:

@the replicant No, but is ‘Aqualung’ about homeless people? I’ve heard of the song, but have never actually listened to it.

  8. EDW Says:

Well, I had Ben Folds Five instantly. LOVE this idea, btw. #1 I think is “The Way It Is” by Bruce Hornsby. First instinct. How’d I do?

  9. Patrick D. Says:

Nope. #1 was ‘Mr. Wendal’ from Arrested Development, the band, not the television show. :)

    Thanks all for playing.

  10. KBO Says:

Arrested Development (both the show and the band) is wise.

@KBO Shouldn’t that be ‘are wise’?
