My Big Bag Of Failure…
I tried to make trail mix. It went badly.
My wife makes amazing trail mix. Really. It’s like heaven in a plastic bag. So, on the way to work today, I thought I’d take a shot at making some. Didn’t seem that hard.
Boy, was I wrong?
I bought a bag of M&Ms, a can of cashews, a can of toffee peanuts and I had some raisins and sunflower kernels from home. I mixed it all together in a big Ziploc bag.
It tasted awful. It was horrible. Like rained out ballgames, cerebral palsy and animals hit by trains. It was like eating table salt mixed with rock salt. I think the problem was using salted peanuts and salted cashews. So, that’s $10 in the trash can.
Lesson learned.

Hmm, I’m not too big on trail mixes. I think maybe it’s the whole uneven consistency thing. You might be crunching along at one level of crunch and then bam! A rock shows up…eh. But other people seem to dig it and maybe there’s something unsalted you could add to it to help balance out the salt? Perhaps mini marshmallows? See I don’t know LOL I guess I’m just no help here. You’ll have to ask the Wife and see what could be added or picked out

I skip the peanuts and sunflower kernels. Just m&ms, salted cashews, and raisins. It is so good- I am now going to the grocery store tonight to nab all of these bits for my snack jar at work!

My wife has already told me a couple mistakes I made, so next batch should be better. Or at least edible.

Everybody seems to have their own formula. It’s cool. Custom made to suit the person eating it is so 2.0.

I like eating cashews early in the morning as a diet. But now I stopped eating because it is increasing my weight.. Thanks for sharing the views here.
