And The Winners Are…
Okay, so the response to the ProFlowers.com giveaway was awesome. Thank you to each of you who commented, tweeted and posted to win. I really wish I could give you all certificates, but I only have five.
I did promise I’d give you my worst Valentine’s Day gift, but really, there isn’t one. For many years, Jen and I have simply not given each other anything because of money. Fortunately, this year, thanks to ProFlowers, I was able to order her some lovely flowers. (In the interest of disclosure, ProFlowers gave me a certificate for myself.)
Some of your gifts were amazingly bad. The can opener comes right to mind. Men, NEVER buy a woman anything she can’t eat, smell or wear for Valentine’s Day. That’s kind of a given, but still.
How did I pick the winners? Well, I numbered all the entries by the guidelines I originally set up. Then, I used the random number generator at random.org to get the five numbers that would be winners. And then I matched numbers to entries. I also generated a couple extra numbers in case some winners aren’t interested or bad email addresses or any other reason.
Going into this, I probably knew 75% of the commenters although some we’re just acquaintances. But four of the five winners I actually know. Well, know is relative. A couple are ‘friends of a friend’ kind of friends and one is an Internet buddy. So very cool. One I don’t know, but she has a cool blog and it’s her birthday, so hooray for her. W00t.
Before I get to the winners, I did want all of you to know that ProFlowers was kind enough to give this offer to all my readers: order using the link below and you can get 20% off your order and a free vase. So, even if you didn’t win, you can still get a good deal.

On to the winners then!
- My co-worker, Chris
- Church friend of my wife, Robin
- Fellow blogger, EDW
- Friend’s mom, Candy
- Complete stranger and birthday girl, Danielle
Congratulations to our winners. The certificates expire on March 1st, so don’t sit on them too long. If you’re a winner, I will email you shortly. Reply to that email and I’ll send your code.
Again, thank you all for making this a big success for me.
I appreciate it.

That’s great! I’m so glad it turned out so well. Perhaps they will offer you to host another contest in the future. I love how diplomatic you are when determining the winners. It works! Congrats to all the winners, better luck next year to all of us losers LOL

I wasn’t sure if you had sent emails out to the winners yet or not, but if you had I might have been a little delete happy yesterday when going through all of my millions of emails (I get a lot of random spam) and deleted because I haven’t noticed an email about the proflowers GC yet.
Wow, that was quite the run-on entence.
