Ghosts Of Christmas’ Past…

If you’re thinking about life insurance quotes, and really, who isn’t, might I distract you with a lovely holiday recap?

So, Jen remarked to me yesterday that it didn’t real feel like Christmas. She wasn’t sure if it was just having the immediate family around or the lack of snow, but it just didn’t feel quite Christmas-y.

Don’t get her wrong. The boys had a blast. They opened presents, played with toys and spent time with Mom and Dad and it was great. But something was missing.

My theory is that a part of it was that 2008 sucked. It really was a horrible year. It was not entirely without some good great moments (cough cough election cough), but still. It pretty much sucked.

But it could be worse. Our Christmas was peaceful and drama-free. And that I like. I hold most Christmas’ up for comparison with the worst Christmas ever. I can’t remember the exact year, but I’m fairly certain it was in the 80s.

It was me, my mom, my sister and her daughter, and my other sister and her three kids. And when all these people got around each other, it was like striking matches near a powder keg. You knew something was going to blow.

And it did.

So, there are my two sisters, each one with a big dinner plate in hand, beating other and thrashing around the room, into the tree, kids screaming. Ah, good times…

I’m so kidding. Those were not good times. And that.
That will NEVER EVER be my house. NOT EVER.
Hope you had a good holiday.
And hopefully, no one hit each other with plates.
