I’m Kind of Katy Perry-ed Out…

I know. It wasn’t that long ago that I was singing the praises of Katy Perry. And the album is good. I’ll give her that.

But there’s something about her that just screams fake. I don’t know if it’s her background. It’s erratic…there’s no linear motion musically. First, she released a Christian album and now, she’s all about experimentation. What’s next, Katy? Country album?

I don’t know if it’s the hot pants and the crazy outfits. The only people I know that wear swimsuits as regular clothes are thirteen-year-old girls. (And don’t go there, perv. The Wife and her friend spent a whole day in swimsuits when they were about thirteen.)

Or maybe it’s the ‘party girl’ vibe she seems to put off EVERY single time the media is anywhere around her. She seems constantly on the move and jumping and smiling much like people who have chemically-induced speed boosts. I am not, by any circumstance, suggesting she’s doing drugs. I just think she plays to the camera way too hard.

Regardless, I’ve had about as much as I can stand of Katy. Maybe it’s time to rotate her out of the playlists for a bit.

    I know, she’s pretty fake. Her single, “I Kissed a Girl,” was as close to an attempt at “Like a Virgin” as I have ever heard. She really wants to be controversial. It’s very contrived.

    Maybe you should get the new Nickelback CD, Dark Horse…it ROCKS! You’ll love this…I got tickets yesterday for their tour. We have to road trip to KC, but we’ll be on the floor with the other lunatics…whoo hoo!!! And, I confess, I’m in their fan club… That should give you some fantastic “slam” material for me. :)
