Taking Your Browser ‘On The Go’

So, has this ever happened to you? You go to a friend’s house or to a public library and need to use the computer, but unfortunately, you’re stuck using Internet Explorer when you really prefer Mozilla Firefox.

There is a solution.

It’s called Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition. It’s a version of the popular browser that runs completely from a flash drive (or other storage device). So it doesn’t use anything on the host computer. You can run all your favorite websites in your favorite browser.

And it doesn’t end there.

PortableApps has a plethora of programs available for download and all of them run from their own directory. For example, FileZilla, my FTP client of choice, is available for download. And not just web applications. The site also includes office applications, media players and games.

It’s definitely worth taking a look.
