Black Friday Is Coming…
I got a spam email today. That’s not the important part. The important part is that it mentioned Black Friday and I forgot completely that was coming up soon.
Usually, I follow Black Friday Ads, because traditionally, I’ve found them to be the best at ferreting these ads out well ahead of time. Check them out. They’re already up and running for 2008.

In The Buzz section of my WORLD magazine today, there was an article in the ‘Looking Ahead’ section that went a little something like this:
“Buy Nothing Day – Talk about high expectations: Even in a beleaguered economy, everybody knows the day after Thanksgiving is about finding deals and pre-Christmas sales at the local mall. But hand it to a few consumer and environmental groups that founded the annual Buy Nothing Day in hopes of protesting what they call the relentless commercialization of the holiday season. Even in hard times, however, they operate one lonely crusade.”
Normally I visit family on Black Friday, playing bingo with the old folks for odd white elephant gifts. Good times! This year I had planned to visit a Bath and Body works store in hopes of 5 for $10 hand soap pumps for myself and gifts. I remember the horror stories from childhood, of people being trampled just trying to get in the doors….perhaps I’ll just wait for soaps.

If you don’t buy something on Black Friday, then the terrorists have won.

I generally spend black friday in my bed, watching movies and occasionally mocking the “news” reports telling you how full each major mall parking lot is. No, I’m not joking.

The season is def. coming fast, I am seeing blog postings, articles and black friday shopping videos everywhere lately. It is definitely a buyer’s market right now and so I am excited to get some good deals on tech. The trick will be only buying what I can afford and not using credit cards!
