Just What I Needed…
So today I was surfing the Interwebs thinking about Mediterranean cruises, chicken and car mufflers and came across an interesting article by Deborah Ng of Freelance Writing Gigs. The article is called ‘NaNoWriMo? No thanks!’ and it’s well worth the read. The gist of it is that NaNoWriMo is a big waste of time (my summary, not hers).
In the article, she makes some very valid points, mostly motivation, ridiculous time constraints and the choice of month. That choice of November always did puzzle me…really…the month with the single longest holiday in it? In summary, she says if you want to write, just write. I could not agree more. Consider my NaNoWriMo officially done. I will continue to work on the novel, but at my pace. I may even post some excerpts here.
