I’ve been wrestling again with blogs. I suppose the problem is that I don’t seem to have a passion. Some people pride themselves on being an expert on something. It’s a thing they can sit and talk about for hours. And love every minute of it.

I thought for me, that was technology. But the reality is that while I do love tech, I don’t want to really sit down and write about it ad nauseam. I don’t. I thought maybe it was humor, but while I think I’m hilarious, it’s more situational that I feel is my strong suit for funny.

I don’t know.

Many people have said that the way to figure out what career you should be in is to think of what you would do if money weren’t an issue. I draw a blank every time I pose that question to myself. I usually end up with ‘not a darn thing at all’ as my answer. Which, of course, brings to mind this dialogue from ‘Office Space‘:

Peter Gibbons: What would you do if you had a million dollars?
Lawrence: I’ll tell you what I’d do, man: two chicks at the same time, man.
Peter Gibbons: That’s it? If you had a million dollars, you’d do two chicks at the same time?
Lawrence: Damn straight. I always wanted to do that, man. And I think if I were a millionaire I could hook that up, too; ’cause chicks dig dudes with money.
Peter Gibbons: Well, not all chicks.
Lawrence: Well, the type of chicks that’d double up on a dude like me do.
Peter Gibbons: Good point.
Lawrence: Well, what about you now? What would you do?
Peter Gibbons: Besides two chicks at the same time?
Lawrence: Well, yeah.
Peter Gibbons: Nothing.
Lawrence: Nothing, huh?
Peter Gibbons: I would relax… I would sit on my ass all day… I would do nothing.
Lawrence: Well, you don’t need a million dollars to do nothing, man. Take a look at my cousin: he’s broke, don’t do shit.

Am I destined to sit on office furniture and push papers around or am I destined for something more? I don’t mind my job right now, but I guess I just figured there was more. Feel free to post a comment and tell me to shut my whiny ass up. I’ve got that coming.
