Maybe An ‘A’ For Effort…
You may have noticed recently that two new badges have appeared over in the sidebar. If you read this through a feed, you’d have no idea, but they are there. I have opted, once again this year, to participate in two big writing events.
The first is National Novel Writing Month. It’s the dream of writing a 50,000+ word novel. I have a plot in mind and I’m going to try and meet up with the others in Saint Louis doing this. There’s a meet-up this Saturday I’m trying to get to if I can secure a sitter. I tried this last year and well, it didn’t go so well.
But I’ll try again and maybe I can do better. One idea I have is to disable the spell checker and use a monstrous font while creating. The reasoning for this is that too often, I try to edit as I’m writing. With huge text and no spelling errors highlighted, I can focus on churning out copy. I’ll edit in December if I succeed.
The other project in November is National Blog Posting Month. A far easier task, the goal is to post at least one every day in November. I completed this one last year and even won a prize. I’m thinking of contributing a prize this year, but still participating as well.
Anyway, wish me luck and check back here for progress all next month!

I tried NaBloPoMo last year and frankly, I messed up about half way through.
I’m thinking of trying again this year, but not sure if I’ll make it since sometimes I just feel like not looking at the computer! LOL

You get an ‘A’ in my book as well. I tried and didn’t make it but half way on the novel last year.
I’d love to try again but honestly I’m more likely to succeed on the blogging one.
Cheers.

best of luck in both endeavors. I have a little too much going on this month to even attempt the blogging one, ah – maybe someday.
