Hey CW, Check These Hits!

So, For The Love of Comics today wrote a post about a new upcoming series from the CW called ‘The Graysons’, which follows Dick Grayson before he becomes Robin.

Eh? What? Seriously?

I had to check the date and make sure this wasn’t April 1st. So, this show will have absolutely no superhero anything. Why bother calling it ‘The Graysons’? Pick any family name…it’s got no connection to Batman. This is ridiculous. Why bother with the Batman connection at all?

So, I thought if the CW needs some shows along this line, I could give them my top three show ideas for the 2009 season:

  1. Scrappy – The shows follows a piece of metal as it sits in a scrapyard. Eventually, the scrap of metal will become part of the left arm of Iron Man.
  2. How I Met Your Ring – This one follows the class ring of Hal Jordan, some ten years before he’ll receive the Green Lantern ring. In the third season of HIMYR, the ring ends up with high school fling Becky Carter and is never seen again.
  3. The Buzz Stops Here – This one is teh hottest. It follows the hairstylist who gives Ororo Munroe (aka Storm of the X-Men) her famous Mohawk back in the 80s. If it makes it to season eight, she’ll be the same stylist who shaves Britney Spears bald.

Call me, CW!!!

Ha! I saw the announcement today and also thought it was weird. I mean, they compared it to Smallville. Except the point of Smallville is that Clark, you know, has powers.

    My vote is for Scrappy.

Oh dear. How very dumb. And the name – could it SOUND more boring?? I wouldn’t even read a summary if I saw that. The Graysons? Snore.

How about “Young Dick”? That might get some viewers . .. Not the ones you want, but . . .
