We have the ability to do polls here at Patrick Says. And we haven’t had one in awhile.

So, here goes.

A thought occurred to me at some point about people and the etiquette for eyeglasses when ‘getting busy’. What is the standard? I know what I do, but I wonder about everyone else. Do you take them off or leave them on? So vote in the poll and let’s see what I get.

For the record, the title of this post is purely for comedic value.

So I was checking out a friend’s video of a downed power line earlier tonight. At the end of the video, which was pretty cool, they show some other clips from the service (in this case, MySpaceTV). A listing for a video by an artist named Katy Perry caught my eye. I clicked the link and played the video.

Hell’s yeah.

This video is awesome. It’s awesome for three primary reasons:

1. Katy Perry looks smoking hot in this video.
2. Clearly lesbian overtones, or at the bare minimum, a girl who’s into trying new things…wink wink nudge nudge.
3. The song actually rocks. (Wait for the chorus…it’s worth it.)

Basically, what you have here is a WIN-WIN-WIN situation.

This video might be consider NSFW by some people. I am not one of those people. But if the kids are around, they may want to know why Katy kissed a girl. If you’re not ready to answer that question, come back later when the kids aren’t around. There is no nudity or foul language in this video, but some of the outfits are a little skimpy and there are obviously some suggestive themes going on.

So, has there ever been a group that seems like they should be right up your alley in terms of your musical tastes? A couple years back, I felt that way about the Dave Matthews Band. They seemed like a perfect fit for me. I bought ‘Under The Table And Dreaming’. And I hated it. Really. Just awful. Got on my nerves in two and a half songs. The only song I really liked was ‘Ants Marching’ and that wore thin fairly quickly. So sometimes the obvious musical choice isn’t so obvious.

Which brings us to Weezer. Weezer seems like a band I could absolutely love. Like right up there with Pearl Jam or REM. Yes, that good. They write quirky fun songs, they did a video with the Muppets, they’re kind of geeky. These things should make me and Weezer a perfect fit. I’ve tried a couple times and I’m still on the fence though.

So, I need to give this a serious go. If you’re a Weezer fan, what is the best album to jump in with? If you hate Weezer, who would you recommend for quirky fun music? Help me out.

I noticed while booting up the computer today that Windows XP has the company name, Microsoft, listed not once…not twice…but three times on the splash screen. That seems a lot like overkill. Gee, I wonder who makes this product…oh, it’s Microsoft.

What’s the matter, Microsoft…incredibly tiny penis? You can always buy a Porsche.
