i think this is where Twitter fits in. it gives me all the chance to contact people, but because it’s online it can be on anyone’s schedule. plus the pluggins are kind of addicting

I ditched all except Yahoo IM and the google one, which comes with the Google mail. I usually forget to turn Yahoo IM on, anyway. But I do talk to EDW and Paperback Writer on it sometimes.

Since they blocked all external IM at the office, I’m only on Yahoo IM via the email client anymore. Every once in awhile it comes in handy, but for the most part I don’t use it.

Try visiting http://www.meebo.com it combines many messengers but they are all on a website rather than software running on your PC

you lose some of the features, but most of those extra features are annoying anyway

You know how often I actually turn Yahoo Messenger on, and when I do turn it on I normally walk away forgetting about it. I just don’t know that many people that use yahoo messenger anymore, so unless someone emails me saying “get on yahoo” I normally forget about it.

I must admit it will be a sad day when I do finally remember to login, and I don’t see you there on my list.

I may contemplate going back to Skype, but most people I know use AIM or MSN.

Iv used MSN, ICQ, AIM, Skype all in the past. After awhile I drifted away from ICQ because no one really used it, and AIM because I just didn’t like it. Now the only 2 I use are Skype and Msn messenger. Those 2 arn’t bad but I can see if no one contacts you theres really no point in using them.

I use Google Talk and but Yahoo Messenger all the time. I’m always a little gun shy about contacting people via these two means…unless I really, really, really know them.

Amen, brotha’! I rarely even turn mine on at work and I rarely use it at home even though it automatically opens when I boot up. Why bother if you don’t use it!? Smooth move.
