This Girl Is Missing…Have You Seen Her?
Anyone remember Nelly Furtado from way back when ‘Like A Bird’ came out? She was this timid, possibly Indian girl with a great voice and a spirituality that was so innocent.
Now we have the promiscuous maneater who seems to be passing the coochie around to see who wants to ‘bang it around today’. (That’s just the perception created by the music. It could be completely removed from the actual reality.)
She definitely did a reboot on her image.

she doesn’t quite seem “timid”, although i would say somewhat more innocent. seems like “fun loving girl” has definately taken on a different meaning.
another one that i find humorous is avril lavigne. i don’t really watch her or listen to her music, but when she first hit it big, she was everywhere, running down spears and christina for using their looks to sell their music. didn’t take long for her to listen to the hype about how cute she was and start showing off a little more skin though.

I was not a “fan” of Nelly Furtado before, but her songs were nice and stood out from the crowd. I did like that she was a singer/song writer not a pop princess who took some voice lessons.
The new Nelly Furtado isn’t doesn’t stand our from the Furge/Gwen
pop/hip hop girl thing. I hate that whole genre myself, but it must sell records.

I don’t know much about Nelly Furtado really, but Avril, I like! Then again, I never did get into the person behind the music, for me, it’s all about the music. I liked her first album and I like her new one too.
