Is there anything WORSE than the ’4:50 Ask’?

What’s that you say? Never heard of it?

Okay, here’s the scenario. You’re sitting at your desk. It’s 4:50pm. You have completed all the projects you’re going to get done that day. You’ve cleared all the stuff off your desk. Your bag is packed and you’re just staring at the door. Someone walks into your office and drops a project on your desk and says, with a straight face, ‘can you get this done today?’

That, my friend, is the ’4:50 Ask’!!!

Nothing makes me angrier. Not employee self evaluation time. Not answering the phone before we actually open. The ’4:50 Ask’ takes the cake for the worst.

Aren’t you glad you asked?

    Then I would get up, grab my bag and walk out the door.
