This Is Poor Web Design…

I found this site today and wanted to share with you one bad aspect of web design. Design for your audience. This site is for a Saint Louis magazine geared toward people over 50. So, what do they do? They add a JavaScript applet that puts an annoying stick figure(s) jumping all over the screen. People, especially those over 50 who tend to not tolerate bouncy things, would be annoyed to death by this.

Go see for yourself: PrimeLife Circuit. Feel free to point and laugh.

Yep, that was pretty annoying, and I’m not even close to the target age group. My kids, might find it cool? I cant even come up with a point to the bouncing stick figure. I’m sure someone thought they were being clever. Remind me to never hire that web designer. Thats why I have Patrick!

I don’t design websites anymore. Software now readily available does the job incredibly well. For example, WordPress.

WordPress is another blogging platform like Blogger. But it is mainly used on your own domain. Though there are a lot of other free blogging platform providers that offer free wordpress blogs.

Wordpress.com even offers a free wordpress blog as well.

You may want to make a mirror of this site on a WordPress platform for insurance.

I think MattH was joking. He’s on WordPress.com for his site…

This IS a WordPress site. Why would I need to mirror it?
