Car Trouble…

I have always considered it a bad omen to see a car broken down on the side of the road that is the same make and model as the car you’re driving. When I was in the Air Force, I used to occasionally make the 12-hour drive from Biloxi, MS to Saint Louis for vacation. If I saw a Dodge Shadow broke down on the shoulder, I used to talk to my car and try to settle her.
Yes I know that’s weird.
But on the subject of cars, I’ve recently been considering commuting by mass transit instead of by personal auto. I may be able to save some money on gas and bypass the horrible traffic in downtown Clayton. Of course, there would be some walking between bus stops involved. I might lose some weight…which of course for me would be amazing.

I have heard your plan. That will last about a week, if even that long. You would leave before the sun and get home after the kids were in bed. Plus, you wouldnt be in control. And we all know what a control freak you are. Said lovingly, from one freak to another!

I say, give it a try, why not? If it totally sucks, then you don’t have to do it anymore, right? Although, if walking is involved, waiting until it’s not 101 outside might be a good thing. You don’t want to be stinky all day at work…unless you truly do have to get up before the sun!

Ps. When I came off of the exit last night by your house, there was a car that was the same make and model of your car (different color though) broken down on the side of the exit ramp. That’s what I thought you were going to say. So unless they have towed it away today, beware to give your car a good comforting chat up tonight on your way home

I would rather give up my left nut than take public transportation!
I could easily take the bus to work most days, and save a tree or a whale or fucking seal, but I would rather have my left nut pulled off by rabid dogs than have to deal with “mass humanity” even for the relatively short ride!
Don’t do it! Just think how nice it is to be in control of your commute, not having to smell the Public in public transportation, or hear them or have them fall asleep leaning on you.
And I like my left nut, a lot!!

Well, I may be doing a partial change, incorporating part of the Metrolink into my commute.

A man fell asleep leaning on me on a plane one time. I woke up and found him there…it was awkward. I tried to lean him back over without waking him up. Thank goodness he didn’t drool!

I don’t drive to work either. Then again, if I did, it’s more of a waste of money for me to do so. I live fifteen minutes away from work. And having free bus passes? Awesome.
