Okay, Okay…
Okay, so someone commented that I start a lot of posts with the word ‘okay’. Fine. I’m going to start them all with ‘okay’ now. Okay?
Okay, so you know I’ve been wanting more screen real estate on the blog. As a result, I found a very cool three-column layout from the same guy who designed this template. But my question is, do I actually go through all the past posts and fix the images or leave them possibly oversized?
Who am I kidding?
We all know I’m neurotic and I’ll fix every image. I shouldn’t have even put a question mark on that sentence. So look for that template soon. I’ve got the radio show tonight, but maybe over the weekend, I’ll have the time to implement it.
While I have you all here, can I throw out a couple call-outs? I haven’t heard from some of my regulars and I just want to make sure you’re okay. So, if your name is called, please comment with a ‘yes’ or some pithy comment: Jami and Cinders. Thank you.
(The rest of you can comment as well.)

Dude, I can’t listen to you this week, but next week, I’m there.
Drop me a line to remind me.

Okay, so it’s Thursday night around 9 pm CST (that’s 10 pm EST). There’s an hour before “The Patrick D. Show” starts. I turn on my computer so I can download the iTunes player and get all set up for the first full show I’ll get to hear – at last! What’s this? Flashing lights on my modem and an error message ‘Page not found’!?!?!?! *Annoyingly picks up phone* “Yeah, Charter Communications? YOU SUCK!!!! Arg….since my mom moved in like 3 weeks ago, my home internet service – for some reason – is shotty at best. The nice Indian man from somewhere overseas informs me there is trouble in my area and the estimated time for return of service is 2 hours. Well, at 12:30 am CST (30 min after the end of the show) I still had NO INTERNET! So needless to say, I’m sorry, I’ll have to try again next week. I hope things went well for you! I’m sorry I missed it
I guess I could have driven back over to work to listen, but I was waiting til after 10 for the plumber to come see why my bathtub’s hot water wouldn’t turn off.
BTW, I didn’t say ‘a lot of posts start with ‘Okay’” I said the past 3 did…only cause I just read them back to back and they weren’t very long. I don’t normally notice these things….but I don’t mind if you start them all with ‘Okay’, it’s ‘Okay’ with me!!

Ps. I don’t think my mom’s moving in directly related to why my internet service is being yucko…it just so happened to coincide!

Personally, I don’t really like 3-column layouts. If you want more “screen real estate” then you should try a one column layout in which content is all that is displayed and everything currently in your sidebar appears at the bottom of the page as apposed to a three column where content is minimized to the sidebars. To highlight your content, I would strongly suggest a one column layout.

Micheal,
You make a very good point about 3-column layouts. I’m just never sure how much or how little to include on the sidebar. I suppose it really depends on where your traffic comes from on whether you need multiple levels of navigation.
