Alright, I’m Back In…

I was thinking about not doing the Blogathon, but then I worked out some home problems and now I’m back in. I sent the emails out this morning around 2am and we are underway. I have talked to the charity and they have said they can get me some cool prizes to raffle for my sponsors. So go to my Blogathon page and sponsor me today.

Need more info? Here’s the email I sent to my address book peeps:

Well, I’m asking for charity money. Here’s what’s happening. As some of you may know, I am a blogger. And apparently, there has been for a couple years, a blogathon. Each blogger picks their charity and raises money. The challenge is the blogger (me) has to blog for 24 hours straight, with a new post EVERY 30 minutes. I usually post about 3-4 times a week, so 48 posts in 24 hours is a pretty big deal for a blogger.

And this is where you come in. I’d love to have you sponsor me. Either a flat donation or an hourly pledge. It’s totally up to you. And you won’t be giving your money to the blogathon site. While they help facilitate payment, all pledges are paid directly to the charity. Neither blogathon.org or I have access to the funds. It’s completely on the up-and-up. You do have to sign up at blogathon.org to pledge, but that’s a snap and they will NOT spam you or sell your email address.

So how about it? I’ve picked the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation as my charity and well, I work there, so that had something to do with it. But more importantly, by sponsoring me, you’ll be helping the Klein Family Walk team. Kelly is a great kid (who will be very mad I used the word kid, but I am 20 years older than her) who lives everyday with type I diabetes. And she doesn’t want to. No one with type I diabetes does and JDRF is funding research to find that cure. It’s a lean organization and has received several kudos for being very efficient with donor dollars. So how about a small pledge?

So how about it? Help a brother out.

You do realize when I give you money that it entitles me to come open handed next year for some charity, correct?

    That’s fair.

    :)

My second comment is, how often do you change your picture up top?

  4. Patrick D. Says:

I’m not sure what you mean?

If you mean the pictures of various roads, that theme blew up the other day.

If you mean the four blogs I just cycled through in the last hour, that was me trying out a bunch. I like this one a lot and will be sticking with it for awhile.

Awww man, I already posted my pledge for sponsorship on the blogathon link you sent in your email…does that mean I can’t win any raffles??? That sucks :~(

  6. Patrick D. Says:

Um, that’s how you get entered for the drawings. By sponsoring me.
