Is It Just Me?
Please, whatever you do, DO NOT talk to me when I’m sitting in a public restroom!!! I’m sitting in the stall in the office building restroom at my work, minding my own business, when the door of the room opens and I hear B., the intern, say: “Patrick?”
“Yes???”
“T. told me to tell you I’m borrowing your coat to go outside. Is that okay?”
“Sure, but B….never, ever talk to me again when I’m sitting in the john.”
“Okay.”
Is it just me or is that weird? I would never, in a million years, talk to someone while they are sitting in the crapper. I bearly let my wife talk to me when I’m in there. Does this seem weird to anybody else? Do you care if someone talks to you while you’re ‘doing your business’?

I only care about that if I am using a public bathroom. My bathroom at home people yell through the door to talk to me.

If you’re just sitting there, I don’t think it matters, but if you are actually in the middle of something, like pushing, it might be a little embarrassing.
When girls go to the public restrooms together though, we talk to each other to cover up the pee sounds. Eases up the timid-tinkler factor.

I think you would be getting different answers from guys. Girls always talk to each other in the potty, pretty much no matter what is happening in the bowl. Guys on the other hand, normally stand at a urinal for the simple non-embarrassing times. So I would guess, if you need to go into the stall and sit, matters fall a little higher on the need for privacy meter. I even talk on the phone sometimes when I’m in there, why not? It makes me smile when I do, and you don’t know about it, Patrick! LOL
Oh, and I believe you’ve answered the phone yourself, from beyond the bathroom door…
Toilet humor is the best.

Pat, that is not weird at all! Sometimes (at least for me) some concentration is required and if someone speaks that just throws it off! PLUS, sometimes I like to read. Wow, I think I said too much, and better go now. (blushing)
