Wha Happened?

Well, if you’ll recall from last month, I made a bold statement (well, not that bold) about Patrick Says v2.0. Here we are, August and plain-old Patrick Says. What gives?

Originally, the plan was to go ahead and take the WordPress jump again and make it stick. Plus, I would like some more experience with WordPress. But then, I realized I like Blogger. There’s a sense of community here. I couldn’t just abandon my cyber-friends for the greener pastures of paid hosting and better uptimes. Plus everyone else in my Blogroll…most of them are here at Blogger.com. So I’ll stick around.

Then I thought I’d at least try a different template. Still looking for something I like. If you viewed this blog earlier between like 10:29pm and 10:36pm, you got a glimspe of a different template. Turns out I hated the template. If you have a good template site, let me know.

I just modified mine by playing with the color codes and taking out some of the blogger graphics to come up with a non-cookie-cutter template. I am technically still running on a Blogger sponsored site.

I’d like to evantually switch to wordpress– can’t you run it and host it on Blogger though? I downloaded it though and totally don’t get it.

Filing. That’s all Blogger needs to please me. Categories. I’m a Virgo. Help me, we need some organization pleeeeeze.

I know what you mean about the categories. I think that’s why I love my new template. All I wanted was something to get the tabs in order….

Good luck though. You could try looking into the Gecko and Fly website that I took my new template from!

Hey, thanks for stopping by my blog. I love reading blogs by people who live in my area.

I know how you feel about the template thing. I have come up with like three different designs for my blog, but I get halfway done with them and then I always decide they’re absolutely horrid. So I keep staying with the same old silly Blogger template I started with. Which I expect makes me look like an amateur. Which I guess I am.

I didn’t feel any of the templates were right for me so I paid someone a few bucks to design something for me. It was easy and she did a great job. She’s got a button on the sidebar of my site if you are interested.

Yes, categories would be sooo nice … I have contemplated moving to TypePad or WordPress myself. But like you, Patrick, I’ve found that I enjoy the Blogger types, who seem to be very loyal and good natured (overall).
