Storms… (updated)
If you live in the metro Saint Louis area, you probably know we had some devastating storms last night. I hope you are all okay. But that’s not my story.
So, anyway, I’m driving home as the storms are winding down and the sky is still lit up. And these aren’t cloud-to-ground strikes. These are cloud-to-cloud runs. Eight to ten bolts would strike out like a spider from a center and they would all run across the sky. It was beautiful. At one point, I actually yelled (in my car), ‘Damn! Mother nature is HOT!’ It was quite the display in the night sky.

I’ve driven thru Central IL storms for the past 2 days. The one where it hailed was particularly hairy.

Hey, have you seen the video from the rain out at Busch stadium last week where the garbage can blows into a woman? I’ll try to dig it up for you.

I just found it and added it to the entry. Thanks for the tip…I didn’t one about that clip. I feel bad for the woman, but it was hilarious.

I missed the worst part of the storm apparently. I wasn’t in the city at the time. But it was pretty bad. As I drove home, it looked almost like a war zone! Cars crushed and trees and leaves EVERYWHERE! Luckily, I had power when I did get home, but now, a week later, there are still lots of people without power.

I saw this video. And wow. Was that at the Card’s game? I assume it was?

Yes. It was. The incident was confirmed by an article in the Post-Dispatch and interestingly enough, a news station in Georgia.
No word on how the person was after. I imagine it hurt like hell.
